The SolarRaptor UV mixed light lamp is a UV lamp for terrariums. It provides animals with natural light and a broad UVA/UVB spectrum. In addition, the UV lamp emits pleasant heat and ensures higher temperatures in the terrarium.
The powerful mixed light source (MVL, Mercury Vapor Lamp) is available in different wattages and is also the right choice for larger desert and steppe terrariums.
The integrated reflector increases the light output many times over. Thanks to the tempered glass used, no dust can burn into the spotlight and retain radiation.
Due to the good UVA and UVB components, the SolarRaptor UV mixed light lamps support the vital D3 synthesis.
UVB is important for vitamin D3 synthesis and thus for the bone and shell construction of reptiles. UVA is elementary for the well-being, increases appetite, activity and reproductive behaviour of reptiles.
In the terrarium, the lamp should be combined with LED or T5 lighting to provide basic lighting for the terrarium.
UV lamps must be replaced regularly, as the UV values decrease in the course of operation.
The UV mixed light lamps reliably supply your reptiles with UV for about 1 year – after that, the lamps should be replaced.
Ideally, you should measure the UV values of your lamp with the Solarmeter® 6.2R Reptile UVB or Solarmeter® 6.5R Reptile UV Index to determine the right time for a change.
