CON1 is a control unit for all SolarStinger and SolarRaptor products that are operated with a DRV power pack.
Settings can be made directly via the display or via Mini USB cable (not included), on the PC (operating system Windows XP or newer required). The required software can be found here.
Switch-on and switch-off times can be set, the light can be raised and lowered slowly or generally kept dimmed if it is too strong.
Some products, such as the SolarStinger SunStrip III 35 FRESH, the SolarStinger SunStrip 70 MARINE or the SolarRaptor SunStrip 35 REPTILE have RGB LEDs. This makes it possible, for example, to simulate sunrises and sunsets and to adjust the colour gradient accordingly or to make other colour changes if one deems it necessary.
At this point it should be mentioned again that the light spectra of all SolarStinger/SolarRaptor SunStrips are ideally designed for their field of application (plant and coral growth) and do not need to be optimised by changing the colour settings! Therefore, all LEDs should be controlled in equal proportions. E.g. all colour channels at 100 %, all at 80 % or all at 65 %.
Once the desired light pattern has been saved, it is displayed daily by the CON1 control unit.
For connection, the DRV power supply unit is connected to the input of the CON1. The output power (size) of the DRV must be selected according to the input power (wattage) of the connected products. It is important that the input power of the CON1 (1 watt) is included.
The three outputs of the CON1 are individually controllable and can be assigned to any products up to a total of max. 160 watts input power.
Example:
CON1 output 1 – SunStrip FRESH III 35 750 mm / 26 W
CON1 output 2 – SunStrip FRESH 70 750 mm / 53 W
CON1 output 3 – SunStrip FRESH 70 750 mm / 53 W
CON1 input – DRV2 160 W
=> Input power = 26 W + 53 W + 53 W + 1 W = 133 W
=> Output power = 160 W
With a DRV Y-Cable (not included), it is also possible to control several products synchronously via one output.
